About Us

Reinhard & Petra Nickel, coming from the German Blackforest, have chosen NZ as their new home country
They are since 2007 New Zealand Citizens,
in their European life as high flying corporate managers, they are living now a peaceful life as proud owners of their
Home, Glass-studio and their Boutique Lodge

Bushland Park Lodge

They immigrated to New Zealand in 1995.

To complement their passion for fine dining they opened the "Glasschef Studio" in 2007.

To perfectionize this passion they introduce
the elegance and transperancy of glass as the chosen material
for handcrafted unique dinnerware.

Reinhard creates the dinner plates and Petra the tableware accessoires, like bowls or candle-holders.
Reinhard's philosophy in his creations is: to keep some neutral area in the middle of a plate for having space
for the food 's decorative effect.

Petra,
the always smiling people person,
balances the glass studio production
by creating glass fused accessories
and jewellery.

First product and opening May 2007 of
the Glasschef Studio

700x700mm size glassfusing kiln
fires up to 900 degree Celsius
from "Spectrum" art glass to dinner plate,
a kiln process with approx 48 hours
